Our Roots

Our family’s legal tradition traces back to the 1970s, when Bill Shapiro— a first-generation college graduate
and former athlete—found his calling in the law. While in law school, he clerked for a respected personal-injury
firm in the Inland Empire and ultimately rose to partner. In the early 1980s, he established his own practice,
handling a wide range of personal-injury matters.

A natural competitor, Bill channeled his drive into trial work and soon earned a reputation for excelling in the
courtroom. Over the years, he has been recognized by some of the nation’s most distinguished trial-lawyer organizations,
including the American Board of Trial Advocates, the International Society of Barristers, and the American College of
Trial Lawyers.

Brian and Matt Shapiro grew up in Orange County, fully immersed in the operations of a serious personal-injury practice.
Around the dinner table, they absorbed client stories and learned to analyze cases with reason, common sense, and
foundational legal principles.

After graduating from law school, Brian and Matt joined Bill in practice. Bill shared with them the breadth of his
experience—his methods, his insights, and his unwavering dedication to clients. Decades of hard-earned knowledge were
passed directly to the next generation. Brian and Matt gained unfiltered access to more than 45 years of trying and
litigating complex, high-stakes injury cases. They learned that meaningful results come from careful case evaluation,
rigorous preparation, and a steady, deliberate approach from a claim’s inception through trial.

We work as a coordinated team—and, when appropriate, in partnership with other firms—to secure the strongest possible
